The Lake County Forest Preserves include some of Martha’s favorite places on Earth. Not only are they spectacularly beautiful natural areas, but they mean a lot to her because — as an elected member of the Lake County Board and Forest Preserve Board from 1992-2002 — she played a key role in saving and restoring the forests, wetlands, and prairies shown here, and many others as well.
