FINE ART: Classic Film Images
Martha Marks made these exquisite bird and butterfly photos during the pre-digital 1990s and early 2000s. It was a time when both her portfolio and her reputation as a photographer were growing fast. She was so proud of these shots that she gave each one a unique name.

To create these images, Martha used state-of-the-art Canon film cameras and superb “L” lenses, including her prized possession: Canon’s razor-sharp 500mm f4 prime “bird lens.”
From Martha’s original slides, a professional drum-scanner then produced the digital files that allow these images to be printed and displayed on the internet. Drum scanning generates high-resolution, flawless files suitable for custom-made fine giclée prints and other superb reproductions.
Over the years, notable individuals, companies, and non-profits have bought, framed, and displayed large prints made from these images in their personal and corporate collections.
None of these images has been manipulated as is commonly done with digital originals. The only significant adjustments were to “Just Passing Through” and “Taking Care of Business,” which Martha cropped to enhance their compositions.
